Thank you to the Scott/Tyler Family for sharing your safari experience with us, we are thrilled you enjoyed your time at oddballs and cant wait to welcome you back

"Dear Rebecca Jane I am sorry that I have not been able to write previously but it is always difficult to catch up after a time away from home and work.

We got a good send-off for the 20 minute flight over the Delta, which was a delight in itself, and the Oddballs Lodge was fantastic, especially the freedom we were given to go on foot, with the guides, into the bush. The tented accommodation was very comfortable, clean and well-serviced and the food was excellent (with care being taken to ensure the 80% of the family that is vegetarian was well catered for). [This was in contrast, particularly for the children, to the “delights” of camping over the rest of the holiday (putting up and taking down the tents, (over-)cooking pasta on one gas plate, taking pot-luck as to whether or not there would be (hot) water for a shower and risking big acacia thorns piercing a foot!] The staff and guides were very attentive and friendly, and we felt very safe on the mokoro trips and walks as well as being very well informed on all aspects of life in the Delta. It was easy, even in a short time, to build up good relationships with the Oddballs staff and it was very hard to leave! The daily routine was marvellous (I can provide details if you need them) and gave the day a great structure. We had lovely walks and encounters with giraffe, elephant and many types of antelope and bird but pride of place went to seeing 3 painted wild dogs on 2 consecutive days! The flight back was very scenic and we were very quickly and efficiently moved through the airport on our return (just sorry not to meet you)! With best wishes from Vera, Joel (14), Lauren (12) and Nathan (10) as well as from me, Paul"

Dear Rebecca and Anton,

My most sincere apologies for not replying to your email sooner. We got back in July, and it seems life has been a whirlwind since then. I am afraid I am not very good with putting phorographs on the computer, but here is a summary of our experience with your company:-

I have an American daughter-in-law and 2 American Grandchildren, so Oddball Camp was a very exciting introduction to Africa for them. The Camp was very comfortable and the staff were amazing. The guides were very knowledgeable and interacted with the whole family on each safari. The walks through the bush and the rides on the Makoros (?sp} were something to look forward to with great eagerness each day. The Hippos right outside the camp, the elephants coming down to eat and drink, and the information gathered on our walks will remain with the family for a long time, as one of the most memorable holidays of a lifetime.  The outdoor shower was a great hit with the Boys.

The water may be low in Delta at Oddballs Camp, however the sightings are amazing. Clients Pawel were able to follow on foot, lions hunting buffalo.

Oddballs - we loved the place! The staff was fantastic as was the food. We loved the accommodations, comfortable beds in platform tents, toilets right next to our tents and lovely hot showers under the trees. Sitting on the porch at Oddballs we watched an incredible scene of hippos, elephants, warthogs, zebras, antelope, giraffe and baboons coming to the water to drink. It was mesmerizing. We even had an elephant come into our camp and walk around a bit.  We did several walking safaris lead by KG who was outstanding. We had total faith in him and he was incredibly patient answering all of our questions. We loved waking up early to a cup of hot coffee and delicious muffins before our walks. The hot breakfast we enjoyed when we returned a few hours later was delicious and served by friendly and polite staff. We loved that our guides and the managers of Oddballs ate meals with us - it was a great way to learn more about the community and about their lives. We enjoyed the communal meals with other guests and staff followed by sitting around the fire all together sharing stories of the day.
